Answer:
All praise to Allah and May His blessings on the Prophet.
In Islam, the second most necessary thing is to offer Salah and the method to offer Salah is completely taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and Islam doesn’t accept any improvising or modification as Muslims believe that all of it came from the Creator itself and doesn’t need any further improvement as it is already perfect.
So How many Rakats is Asr
So, Asr has four Rakats and every rakat consist of Qiyam, Rukooh, and Sajda at least.
The recitation in for Rakats of Asr would be with Silent voice as only the person who recites hear that.
Importance Of Salat al-Asr
Asr is the middle prayer among the 5. It is the most emphasized one as well, as Quran States:
حٰفِظُوْا عَلَى الصَّلَوٰتِ وَ الصَّلٰوةِ الْوُسْطٰىۗ-وَ قُوْمُوْا لِلّٰهِ قٰنِتِیْنَ
Guard the (five obligatory) prayers and especially the middle one, and stand with the obedience for Allah.
Surah Baqarah 238
It is also mentions in the hadeeth that:
من فاتتْهُ صلاةُ العصرِ فَكأنَّما وُتِرَ أَهلَهُ ومالَهُ
Whoever misses the Prayer of Asr, as if he has suffered a great misfortune in his family and wealth.
