Quraysh (also known as Banu Fihr, after their eponymous ancestor Fihr ibn Malik): a tribe of western Arabia, custodians of the Kaaba in Mecca. Tribe of origin of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Numerous sub-clans descend from it: Banu Hashim, Banu Umayya, Banu Makhzum, Banu Taym, Banu Zuhra, Banu Adi, etc.
